Does anyone have a check engine light that just refuses to stay off?

This is more of a rant than a question honestly. My Macan has had the engine light come on four times in the last five months. Each time I clear it, each time it comes back within a week or two. First it was a misfire, then an oxygen sensor, now it's something to do with the fuel system according to my cheap scanner. I'm not confident the scanner is even reading it right. I've been reading up on a local garage that specialises in these cars and you can click here for more information about what they actually handle, but I'm hesitant because I've been burned by two different shops already who claimed to know Porsche engines and clearly didn't. At this point I'm wondering if I should just accept the light as part of the car's personality or actually spend the money on a proper diagnostic. Has anyone here had a persistent code that turned out to be something simple but nobody caught it? I'm losing patience with the whole thing.
