Quoted 1400 for front pads, is that normal or am I being taken for a ride?

Got my front brake pads done last year at a place in Mussafah and paid around 900 all in, so when I called the same workshop this week for a quote on the rears they came back with 1400 which caught me completely off guard. I know prices have gone up but that feels like a big jump for pads and labour on a regular Grand Cherokee. Started asking around and a guy from my building said he got affordable brake pad installation for Jeep at another workshop nearby for way less, though he couldn't remember the exact figure or whether they used OEM pads. Now I'm stuck wondering if the first place was just cheap last time and is now pricing properly, or if this new quote is inflated because they know I'm not shopping around. What are you all paying roughly for front or rear pads these days, and does that usually include the rotors or just the pads? Also is it worth paying extra for original Mopar pads or are the decent aftermarket ones fine for normal city driving?
